The Loudermilk CompaniesLLC has acquired a franchise for the Hilton Garden Inns flag to build a hotelon the property adjacent to the Buckhead Theatre, with the development processpossibly beginning in six months, according to President and CEORobert C. “Robin” Loudermilk.

The property where the Hilton Garden Inn hotel will be
built is in the lower left corner of the photo above, bordered
by Roswell Road, Irby Avenue, Early Street and the
Buckhead Theatre. It presently is a parking lot.
The property, presentlya parking lot, has long been planned for a hotel of some sort, possibly aboutique hotel, as well as possible office and/or retail space. Theannouncement today by Loudermilk to BuckheadView was the first naming of HiltonGarden Inn as the flag for the site.
Loudermilk said hiscompany has secured the Hilton Garden Inn “flag essentially for all ofBuckhead,” although the franchise is site specific for that location next tothe Buckhead Theatre. He said he would hope to have the hotel developed in one and a half to two years.
“There is a three-mileradius restriction from that site on anyone else developing a Hilton GardenInn, which I am pretty sure would cover all of Buckhead,” Loudermilk toldBuckheadView. The site is actually at the intersection of Roswell Road andIrbry Avenue.

He said he has beenworking on obtaining a hotel franchise for that site for well over a year now.“At the end of the day, it is what was available and what you can get financed”that guided the decision on what the hotel would be.
He said he is verypleased that he was able to get the Hilton name on the hotel property, becauseof the reputation the company has in the hospitality industry. This isLoudermilk’s first foray into the hotel business, “but I hope it won’t be thelast,” he told BuckheadView.
“Hilton hotels areunderbuilt in the Atlanta area, there was a big radius restriction that wasattached to the Hilton hotel in downtown Atlanta,” Loudermilk explained. “Thatincluded Buckhead, but it just elapsed in the past year or so.”
The Loudermilk familyinterests own half of the block along Roswell Road north of Peachtree and WestPaces Ferry roads and just last week Loudermilk announced that the LoudermilkCompanies had acquired the former Pearson’s Wine, Beer and Liquor store site atthe corner of West Paces Ferry Road and Early Street.
The other half of theblock of retail stores and the site where Lime Fresh restaurant is located (theformer Johnny Rockets site) are owned by George Rohrig, a close friend andbusiness associate of Charlie Loudermilk and Robin Loudermilk.
