St. Regis Atlanta changing up its restaurant scene

TheSt. Regis Atlanta has decided to do a little shuffling of its two restaurants,Paces 88 American Bistro and Astor Court, according to an article in theAtlanta Business Chronicle. And, the change comes today, Friday, Nov. 9.

AstorCourt now will serve dinner, in addition to breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.Live entertainment will be offered Friday and Saturday nights. Paces 88 willbecome a private dining space. But, it will still be used for special events,such as Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners,
Thegoal is to move dining to the “heart of the hotel,” said St. Regis GeneralManager Senih Geray told the Business Chronicle.  Astor Court is located in an open space on thehotel’s second level, overlooking the lobby. It now will be open from 6 a.m. toabout midnight.

Overthe next year, Paces 88 will be transformed into a new concept, Geray said. But,for now, it will be called Paces Hall. The changes come along with newleadership at the hotel.
Geraytook over as the hotel’s general manager in August, replacing Simon Rusconi.  In August, Geray told the Business Chronicle he wanted to tweak the food andbeverage offerings at the St. Regis. Then in July, the hotel named RovertBrandenberg its food and beverage director. Also, this fall, Mariam Karim was brought on as the new director ofcatering and conference services.
Starbucks changing in Buckhead, tooThe Starbucks at 1200 WestPaces Ferry Road in Buckhead is one of four metro Atlanta Starbucks that nowhave expanded food and drink menus geared toward the evening visitor. After4 p.m., people can order a variety of wines, beers, desserts and small platesas part of “Starbucks Evenings.” The concept came out two years ago, but only nowis in Atlanta.
Fooditems include bacon-wrapped dates with balsamic glaze, truffle mac and cheese,chocolate fondue, and artichoke and goat cheese flatbread. As for alcohol, youcan sip on prosecco, riesling, pinot noir, malbec, and others.
Aspen Bartini ready to open on East PacesFerryA newbar, Aspen Bartini, is scheduled to open in a week in the space formerly occupiedby East Paces Tavern at 322 East Paces Ferry Road.Thepiano bar is moving into space that was shoe store Abbadabba's before EastPaces Tavern moved there in June and closed in September. The new restauranthas added a patio.
Accordingto its Facebook page, Aspen Bartini, which will be competing with Jellyrollsdueling piano bar just down the road at 295 East Paces Ferry Road, plans to setitself apart as a "sexy, sleek, and sensational piano bar," and toposition itself to become a premier destination for dinner, after-work drinksand dancing.
