The House of Representatives Republican Caucus re-elected five-termDist. 54 Georgia State Rep. Edward Lindsey (R-Atlanta) to his third term as theHouse Majority Whip by acclamation during caucus elections on Monday.

As House Majority Whip, Lindseywill be responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through bothchambers of the General Assembly and for helping the 119 members of themajority caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.
“It is a tremendous honor to bere-elected House Majority Whip by my House Republican colleagues,” stated Buckhead’sLindsey in a release. “The voters have given our caucus a tremendousresponsibility, and I look forward to joining my colleagues in helping advancestrong conservative principles on behalf of the people of Georgia.”
Rep. Lindsey was first electedMajority Whip by the Republican Caucus, the fourth highest ranking position inHouse leadership, on Dec. 17, 2009. 
He was elected into the Houseof Representatives in 2004, and currently serves on the Rules, Appropriations,Education, Ethics, Industrial Relations and Judiciary committees.
