Camp Orion is designed to ensure a successful camp experience for children ages 5-13 who have neurobehavioral challenges including ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome, and anxiety. Camp Orion teachers have extensive background in special education and the skill needed to nurture social thinking development, self regulation and self esteem in our curious and energetic campers.
Research has shown that the most important skills necessary for lifelong success are social skills and motivation not academic achievement. Each day at Camp Orion is designed to foster growth in the all important areas of problem solving, managing frustration, expressing needs and emotions, understanding social cues, sport skill development and making friends. High interest camp activities including crafts, art exploration, gardening, cooking, recreational games, and field trips offer the novelty and the structure necessary to keep our campers motivated to participate and experience success that will sustain them through more difficult times.
Camp Orion hours are from 9:00-3:00 Monday through Friday with before and after care available for a fee. The camp fee per week is $415. Download and print the application on the Orion School web site (www.theorionschool.org)
