BBA to hear Air Force vet, POW, leadership author

Colonel Leon “Lee”Ellis (USAF – Ret), founder and president of Leadership Freedom LLC® andFreedomStar Media™, will speak at the Buckhead Business Association’s WeeklyBreakfast on Thursday (Sept. 13) at 7:30 a.m.at the City Club of Buckhead in theAtlanta Financial Center..

In addition to being founder and president of Leadership Freedom LLC and FreedomStar Media, Ellis is an author, leadership consultant and keynote speaker in areas of leadership, teambuilding and human behavior. 
Ellis’past clients include Fortune 500 senior executives and C-Level leaders intelecommunications, healthcare, military, and other business sectors. As anexecutive coach and an expert in leadership assessments, he is a resource tosenior executives and boards. 
Early in his career, Ellisserved as an Air Force fighter pilot, flying 53 combat missions over NorthVietnam.  In 1967, he was shot down and held as a POW for more than fiveyears in Hanoi and surrounding camps.
For his wartimeservice, he was awarded two Silver Stars, the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Starwith Valor device, the Purple Heart, and POW Medal.  Lee resumed his AirForce career, serving in leadership roles including command of a flyingsquadron and leadership development organizations before retiring as a colonel.
Ellis has a BA inHistory and a MS in Counseling and Human Development.  He is a graduate ofthe Armed Forces Staff College and the Air War College. He has authored orco-authored four books on leadership and career development. Lee’s latest bookis entitled “Leading with Honor:Leadership Lessons from the Hanoi Hilton”.
Ellis and his wifeMary reside in the Atlanta GA area and have four grown children and sixgrandchildren.
The BBA WeeklyBreakfast meetings are held Thursday mornings at the City Club of Buckhead, onthe 18th floor of the Atlanta Financial Center, 3343 Peachtree Roadin Buckhead. The meetings run from 7:30-9 a.m. Cost of attendance is $10 forBBA members and $20 for visitors and guests. Parking is free with a validatedparking ticket.
