As year end approaches, Amazon CARES is forced to face the very sad reality that we do not funds to continue. Yet, we can not close. We have over 50 dogs and cats that need homes.  We seek veterinary and non-veterinary volunteers to come to the beautiful Peruvian Amazon to help us continue and further our important work.

Closing Amazon CARES would be no easy task. People working in Peru depend on us. The animals would have no place to go. In 2012 we invested in our infrastructure and our jungle property finally has electricity!
Yet the fall-off in giving is palpable and hard. I understand the need to support victims of Hurrican Sandy and charities "at home," and at the same time I am begging you to not let this dream of compassion towards pets and all beings in the Amazon Jungle die.
